Payday Dates for 2027
By C.G. Handley
If you are paid on a set date, or on the last working day of the month, bank holidays and weekends will move your payday during 2027. This guide lists the dates for employers who pay on the working day before when the date is not a working day. Some employers instead pay on the next working day, so always confirm with your payroll team.

Scotland and Northern Ireland have some different bank holidays, so employers there may use different dates.

Why December matters most
In 2027, Christmas Day falls on a Saturday and Boxing Day on a Sunday, which means the substitute bank holidays are on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December. Payroll teams also need extra time for the festive period, so many employers pay a few days early. If you are paid at the end of December, check your employer’s payroll calendar, which is usually published in November.
