Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data is collected when you visit [your domain], the Days Until Payday website, and how it is used. The site is run by [Your name or business name] ("we", "us"), who is the data controller under UK data protection law. You can contact us at [your email address].
What the payday tool does
The countdown and spending calculator work entirely in your web browser using your device's clock. There are no accounts, forms or comments, and the details you enter are not sent to us. To save you re-entering them, the tool remembers your pay choices (how often you are paid, your pay date and how weekends are handled) in your browser's local storage on your own device. The money amounts you type in are never saved. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Advertising and cookies
We may show adverts using Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners are third-party vendors, and they use cookies and similar technologies on this site to serve and measure adverts.
Where you give consent, these cookies are used for ad personalisation. That means Google and its partners can show you adverts based on your visits to this site and other sites. They may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and how you interact with adverts. If you do not consent, you may still see adverts, but they should not be personalised based on your browsing.
Types of cookies and similar technologies
- Strictly necessary: needed to run the site and to remember your cookie choices.
- Functional: the local storage described above, used only to remember your pay choices on your device.
- Advertising: set by Google and its partners, only with your consent, to personalise and measure adverts.
You can control these in several ways:
- Use the cookie choices message or link shown on this site to give or withdraw consent at any time.
- Turn off personalised advertising from Google at adssettings.google.com.
- Opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of sites may then work differently.
To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Fonts
This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details in order to deliver the fonts.
Server logs and our website provider
Our website is hosted by IONOS. IONOS may keep standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
Our legal basis
We rely on your consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary, including advertising cookies. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for server logs and for loading fonts.
Sharing and transfers
Data collected through advertising and fonts goes to Google, which may process it outside the UK under its own safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
How long data is kept
We do not keep personal data ourselves beyond routine server logs, which our host deletes on its own schedule. Google keeps data under its own retention policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email us at [your email address]. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is for a general audience, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site works, for example by adding analytics, we will update this page and the date at the top.
